Throwback to my visit to New York next time you go you must try Le Cirque
Situated right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan situated in the Bloomberg Tower building at One Beacon Court you will find New York’s most acclaimed French restaurant, Le Cirque. I have got to stay that for me it was a spectacular show that night, in fact it was a show stopping performance
From start to finish Chef Raphael continued to tantalise our tastebuds and surprise and delight us as we indulged in the Tasting Menu. Raphael, the French Belgian casanova has settled in like a duck to water following his move across the pond from London to New York. While he hasn’t lost his distinctive French accent I did however notice some American notes setting in. He is how quite at home with Siro Maccioni and the family
While I visited Le Cirque was commemorating forty years of stellar performances by producing French classics like Lobster Salad, Le Cirque Flounder and Beetroot Risotto. These have been modernised by Raphael who who has added his own signature interpretation. This combined with his modern European influences are what sets this great place apart from others
Leafing through the menu is such a pleasure, as well as nostalgia infused classics like Mushroom Risotto you will find some that pay tribute to the past star chefs who have once donned their whites and sharpened their knives in this kitchen like Daniel Boulud, David Bouley and Jacques Torres
But there is one thing for sure there’s nothing like good old fashioned service delivered but true professionals these guys are not one trick ponies and know how to impress. This Grand Dame establishment has earned her air miles in travel and hospitality but will never takes for granted what matters it’s the people as well as consistently good food that make a great place
Being acknowledged and looked after so well warms the cockles of my Irish heart but knowing your favourite dish is available each time you dine here and the assurance that the extra mile is par for the course is what makes Le Cirque so special!
Consistency is vital in the world where the simple things in life are often absent these days but they certainly have plenty of it at Le Cirque
